A community celebration of making. Makers from a range of disciplines will be joining us at the St. Oswald's Centre — browse and buy original crafts, watch live demonstrations, and have a go yourself in one of our hands-on workshops. A wonderful day out for all ages.

Browsing the stalls is free — just drop in any time. Want to try a craft yourself? Each maker is running a hands-on workshop during the day. Book in advance, spots are limited, and all the money goes straight to the maker.
Whittling Taster Class
Try your hand at carving wood with just 1 knife! 1h Demo/Lesson. Materials and tools will be provided.
Make a willow bird feeder
In this introduction to willow weaving you'll learn the basic techniques of working with natural willow as you create your very own bird feeder to hang in your garden. No experience needed, everything you need is provided on the day.
Watercolours basics
Discover the gentle art of watercolour with Penny in this beginner-friendly session. You'll learn the basics of working with water and pigment. Everything is provided, and no previous painting experience is needed.
Make a leather bookmark
Learn about tooling, burnishing and stitching leather to make a personalised bookmark. With a material that is truly of this land. We will craft with gratitude for the animal whose skin we work with.
Stone painting 101
Pick up a stone and turn it into something beautiful. In this relaxed, hands-on session Liz will guide you through the basics of painting on stone. No experience needed, just a willingness to have a go.
Make a flower crown
Make a flower crown to adorn yourself with colour, whimsy and joy. No experience needed, everything you need is provided on the day.

Stone Painting
Liz Crombie
Liz is an artist and maker with over 20 years of experience delivering art and craft workshops across a wide range of client groups. She currently works at a charity running an art and printmaking workshop for adults with learning disabilities.
Woodworking
Rick Giujusa
Rick, also known as Scarecrow Woodcrafts, is a woodcarver, craft tutor, and wellbeing facilitator based in Edinburgh. He specialises in Scandinavian flat plane figure carving, portrait sculpture, and miniature craft.
Watercolour
Lianne Allen (Penny)
Penny is a traditional watercolour artist based in Midlothian, with over nine years of experience working with the medium. Her work focuses on birds, woodland creatures, and the natural world.
Tanning
Serafima Mehhovits
Serafima is a traditional tanner, working with deer skin and local tree bark to make leather. She is passionate about low impact skills that involve all our senses and sustainable land practices. Her practice continues to ask, what does it look like to live in reciprocity with the land?
Willowing
Sofia Caers
Sofia Caers is multidisciplinary artist and crafter based in the Lothians. Her practice is centered around natural materials and land-connection. The past years she's been getting to know willow more closely, gaining great joy and fun from weaving with it - learning from its flexiblility and strenght.

Moggie is an eclectic crafter, from yurt building to growing flowers, she makes it all. She is a heart led visionary of a better, kinder world.
